Midnight Black Hardie® Plank External Corner

Our Hardie® Plank external corners are made from high-quality powder-coated aluminium and are compatible with our Hardie® Plank cladding boards. By using our external and internal Hardie® Plank trims you can achieve a professional finish to your build. These cladding corners can be easily cut to measure using a chop saw with a metal blade or simply by using a hacksaw. The Hardie® Plank external corners are available in all our 21 Hardie Plank cladding colours.

Important: All Hardie Plank corner profiles can only be installed vertically. All Hardie® Plank trims must be handled carefully and cut using suitable equipment including safety equipment. All cuts must be clean and straight. Care should be taken when adjusting or cutting trims to avoid damage.

Installing Hardie® Plank external corners

All our Hardie® Plank trims should be fixed with stainless steel nails, using nails with flush heads. It is essential to ensure that you don’t over-drive or under-drive nails when securing your Hardie® Plank cladding boards.

When trims are being joined together they must be lined up properly before fixing to ensure a straight alignment of your cladding and trims. If not installed correctly, the risk of thermal expansion occurs at times of extreme sun exposure. It is recommended that the top trim is fixed first, followed by the base trim and finally adding the remaining locations. 1.5m is the maximum recommended spacing for these fixings.

It is important that the protective plastic film is removed immediately after installation to avoid trapping it behind cladding boards which would make it difficult to remove after that. If you happen to chip any of the metal trims during the Hardie®  Plank cladding installation process we recommend to use the corresponding James Hardie®  Plank Edge Colour to rectify the chip.
