Sadolin Classic Wood Protection deeply penetrates timber, offering outstanding weather resistance. Its microporous formula allows moisture to pass through freely while remaining flexible to accommodate wood expansion, preventing stain peeling and ensuring long-term performance.
Ideal for large timber areas like cladding, fascias, decking, fences, and rough sawn timber, Sadolin Classic also serves as an excellent base stain for new joinery, preparing it for subsequent treatment with Sadolin Extra. Avoid using it on surfaces previously coated with medium/high build coatings such as opaque wood paint.
Please note that colors displayed on our website may differ slightly from those in the woodstain can. If unsure, we recommend trying a sample pot first. Sadolin Classic is also available in various colors through our paint mixing service. Before applying the paint, ensure the surface is properly prepared. Remove any loose or flaking paint, fill holes or cracks, and ensure the surface is clean. Lightly sand base-stained timber using sandpaper without damaging the coating.
For optimal results, use a high-quality, long-pile paint roller or soft bristle brush. Apply Sadolin Classic to the timber, redistributing the coating along the grain after 5-10 minutes. Allow a minimum of 16-24 hours drying time before recoating or applying Sadolin Extra as a topcoat.
