Sadolin Classic Wood Protection deeply penetrates timber to offer superior weather resistance. Its microporous formula enables moisture within the wood to escape, while remaining flexible to accommodate wood expansion due to temperature changes, preventing peeling and ensuring long-term performance.
Ideal for large timber areas like cladding, fascias, decking, fences, and rough sawn timber, Sadolin Classic also serves as an excellent base stain for new joinery, complementing subsequent treatments with Sadolin Extra. Avoid using it on surfaces previously coated with medium/high build coatings such as opaque wood paint.
Please note that colors displayed on our website may not perfectly match those in the woodstain can. We recommend trying a sample pot first. Sadolin Classic is available in various colors through our paint mixing service. Explore our Sadolin Classic Woodstain Tinted Colour product to find your desired shade or browse our color palettes.

Prior to painting, ensure the surface is properly prepared. Remove loose or flaking paint, fill any holes or cracks, and clean the surface. Lightly sand base-stained timber without breaking the coating.
For optimal results, use a high-quality, long-pile paint roller or soft bristle brush. Apply Sadolin Classic to the timber, redistributing the coating along the grain after 5-10 minutes. Allow a minimum of 16-24 hours drying time before recoating or applying Sadolin Extra as a topcoat.
